Election Calendar for 2008
NOTE: All dates in this calendar are subject to change without notice in the
event of passage of amendatory legislation.

General Primary   April 22
General Election   November 4
January 22 FIRST day to circulate and FILE nomination petitions.
February 12 LAST day to circulate and FILE nomination petitions.
February 13 FIRST day to circulate and file nomination papers.
February 27 LAST day for candidates who have filed nomination petitions to withdraw.
March 24 LAST day to REGISTER to vote before the Municipal Primary.
March 24 LAST day to change party enrollment or non-partisan enrollment before the Municipal Primary Election.
April 15 LAST day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot.
April 18 LAST day  County Board of Elections to receive voted civilian ballots.
April 22 GENERAL PRIMARY: Polls shall remain open continuously between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.
April 23 FIRST day to change party or non-partisan enrollment after the Election.
April 23 FIRST day to REGISTER after the Municipal Primary.
April 29 Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots. (Must be postmarked no later than April 21)
August 1 LAST day to circulate and file nomination papers.
August 8 LAST day for withdrawal by candidates nominated by nomination papers.
August 11 LAST day for withdrawal by candidates nominated at at the Primary.
October 6 LAST day to register before the Municipal Election.
October 6 LAST day to change party enrollment or non-partisan enrollment before the Municipal Election.
October 28 LAST day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot.
October 31 LAST day for County Board of Elections to receive voted civilian  absentee ballots.
November 4 GENERAL ELECTION: Polls shall remain open continuously between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M.
November 5 FIRST day to change party enrollment or non-partisan enrollment after the Election.
November 5 FIRST day to REGISTER after the Municipal Election.
November 12 Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots. (Must be postmarked no later than November 3)
