Located along SR 171 between Hallstead and Great Bend and the Tri-Borough area of Susquehanna Depot, Oakland and Lanesboro, this monument marks the baptism of Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdry in the nearby Susquehanna River. Joseph Smith's homestead is nearby. Recently, land adjacent to the monument was purchased by the LDS church in the
SOLIDA Industrial Park for development as a heritage site.
